About Me
I am Sharmin Mojtahedzadeh, a script writer, filmmaker, producer, and photographer hailing from the vibrant city of Tehran, Iran. My journey into the world of cinema is a testament to the power of passion and persistence in pursuing one’s true calling.
Originally trained in Industrial Management with an MBA degree under my belt, I spent over a decade navigating the corporate landscape, but I always felt a stirring desire to explore storytelling through a different lens. In 2012, I took the leap and delved headfirst into the realm of film-making, a decision that would redefine my life’s trajectory.
Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to crafting narratives that delve deep into the complexities of human experience, shedding light on themes of human rights, women’s issues, and the often unseen facets of our shared humanity. Through my lens, I aim to challenge societal norms and provoke thought, sparking conversations that resonate far beyond the confines of the screen.
My filmography reflects my commitment to amplifying marginalized voices and bringing untold stories to the forefront. From the multimedia documentary “Life In War” (2013) to the socially impactful “The Football Aficionado” (2022), each project represents a labor of love and a testament to the power of cinema as a tool for change. In a world where voices often go unheard, I am determined to continue using my craft to amplify those voices and inspire change. Through the lens of my camera, I hope to illuminate the beauty of our shared humanity and ignite a spark of empathy and understanding in the hearts of viewers around the world.
